Well, make do with this , please, until I un-busy myself with worrying about the assignments I have yet to begin, moving on to worrying (and maybe even entertaining) Mr.Husband too, with mild hysteria, despairing arm-shaking and doleful, “What am I going to do?”s before eventually working up enough anti-procrastinators to get them done, inshaAllah. Pray for me, please.

Procrastination is sad. Especially when it is with things one cannot afford to ignore and push aside for later.

Being characteristically abrupt, there was a burst of orange sunshine through the windows right now and subanAllah, it lifted my spirits. This post gets weirder by the word, so I’ll blame it on the scapegoat. It’s all the scapegoat’s fault. =)

Have you read “Gems and Jewels”, a compilation of stories from the Islamic history?. It’s distributed by Darussalam and what reminded me of it, was a story related to istighfar I came across today which reminded me of another story in that book reminding me to remind you to get that book. And I can’t seem to find the bit I read today, so it can’t be posted, sad.

While I wait for the audio to begin, I might as well type some more nonsense. There has been shamefully little reading going on nowadays.  In my defense, I’ve moved countries and had new schedules to fit into and schoolwork to complete (shh, I did begin And the keyboard has entered the semi-hibernative state (took 5 tries to get that right) previously mentioned and is hence giving me trouble and the audio has begun. So this is where I bring the end and cease to type, this is where we’ll have to part. Bas.

I’ve almost always found the after-the-pause sincere “What are you thinking?” overwhelming. It seems that I can never immediately pin it down to a particular train. Thoughts can feel so wispy at times. The moment you reach out and think you’ve closed some in your fist, they swim out so blithely from between your fingers, unfettered. One following another, and then an incident, and another thought, or a realization, and on and on. SubhanAllah, how the mind works.

I wish I could run now. Run and run, with the wind in my eyes, dew forming in them, as I run with a laugh. Or cycle, manifesting my clumsy, newly learnt balancing. Cycle out big looping loops on the tiled ground with a racing heart, savouring every odd second of exhilarating happiness that I manage to stay above ground and on wheels.

Yes, it’s been some time since I’ve sat down and thought. Really thought, you know. And thoughts can flood you so, when you don’t think them slow. Hence, the vent here for wanting to run/cycle/de-clutter the mind.

What do you call the weird mix of nervousness, anticipation, excitement, trepidation, happiness and a dozen other big words (but not big enough) that your tummy hosts at times? I think you call it butterflies.
